EVENT OVERVIEW

The O&G downstream sector in the MENA region has been experiencing a rapid rise in digital transformation in a bid to optimize productivity, performance and cost. The industry is adopting new technologies such as advanced computing and analytics, drones, IIoT, AI, ML, digital twin and robotics amongst others. According to a report released by ABI Research, investing in IoT devices and applications is expected to cross USD 5 bn, data analytics is expected to reach USD 2 bn, and cyber security is expected to increase by 8.1% between 2021 and 2030 to reach $5640 million per annum.

The downstream sector, however, still faces some key challenges in terms of achieving holistic digital transformation including OT and IT convergence, data integration and analytics, addressing the issues from legacy systems, process optimization, cyber security and lack of skilled workforce amongst others.

The MENA Downstream Digital Transformation Conference taking place on the 5-6 September 2022 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates aims to enable and achieve a comprehensive digital strategy for MENA’s downstream sector to drive performance and efficiency while ensuring plant and data security.
